As a means of lease enforcement and best practices for property management, PHAs often look to other revenue sources, including charges to tenants.
The instructor for this course will review over 15 types of fees, fines, and deposits. Participants will learn what fees, fines, and deposits
can be billed and collected; what the PHA
should consider in determining various fee structures; what charges
cannot be assessed; what charges are
limited by State laws; when payment of charges is
due; and what information
must be included in billings for charges other than rent. Charts will be provided listing security deposits, grace periods for payment of rent, and late charges for each state.
