This course is designed to train public housing staff and residents from each community on resident leadership, how to create resident organizations/councils, and the roles and responsibilities of both the PHA and resident organizations.

    • Decision-making procedures
    • Resident Organization/Council funding
  • Provide a general overview on a grantee's roles and responsibilities
    • Discuss the role of the resident organization/council in the Capital Fund Program
    • Provide information about grant writing fundamentals
    • Provide information on bookkeeping and financial accountability
  • How resident organizations can help meet community service requirements and promote employment of residents under the Section 3 rule
  • PHA's role, requirements, and options in supporting resident organizations
